Not fancy and surely not imposing, the small, retro building sits back across from the Brecksville Shopping Center beckoning customers to come and sample the incredibly tasty donuts! My son has made me get up at 8:00 am on Saturday mornings many times to make sure we made it to the Donut Shoppe in time to get our favorites. What are our favorites? Glazed, chocolate frosted, and vanilla frosted. Every once in a while we indulge in other untried flavors-all always a delight.
Here's the deal, however... you can't just go the Brecksville Donut Shop whenever you want. Their hours are only in the morning and the donuts are only fresh for that day. If you actually decide to wait to the last minute, there are no guarantees that what you want will still be available. So, don't lollygag if you are feeling that donut!
Also, how many places are still around where you can actually sit at the counter, drink coffee, read the newspaper and enjoy conversation? Truly, it is a place that still defines "the way life used to be." For all the choices we have these days for coffee drinking, breakfast eating, and conversation, sometimes the old way is a relief...you can just slow down and smell the coffee - and eat a donut!
